Photoshop
Playing around in photoshop with a picture i took a couple weekends ago while camping. I did some high pass filtering to the photo to bring out some details. then I tried to bring out the color a bit more. here is how I did the high pass filtering.
Start by opening your photo in photoshop and duplicating the background layer. Like this
Then on the new layer you created run the highpass filter on it. Like so.
Then change the top layer to Overlay and thats it dial it in with the layer opacity. you should now see a lot more detail in your photo.
fooling around
I was playing around with mental ray this morning slow morning. Built a simple model to test out some GI and final gather settings in mental ray. This image took about 15min to render at 1280x720. All the materials are Mai x materials so along with final gathering and Gi I also have ambient occlusion and caustics turned on. Pretty speedy render.

Sims Animals
This is a trailer for the upcoming Sims Animals game we did. Basically taking the game assets and making them look better. we also tried to use as much of the canned game animation as possible .
need for speed
So we spent a couple months working on this and they cut most of our shots and added live action shots to it. Seems like a lot of wasted time but that's the way it goes I guess. at least 3 or 4 of our shots made the cut :).
